Natural Stone Patio – DIY Project

A natural stone patio is a do-it-yourself project for a sunny weekend.  The entire design and installation can be completed over a weekend, provided you have all of your supplies purchased ahead of time and you will need someone to help you as working with natural stone is a high labor project.

I have designed two large flagstone patios, one was sand set and the other was installed with moss between the stone.  My husband worked with me and we installed a flagstone walkway from our homes entrance to the curb.  The natural stone walkway was installed on a curve which made the entrance of our home more appealing.

There are three ways to install a flagstone patio; sand set, cement, or natural with low growing ground cover in between the stones. The choice of the flagstone patio application is yours; the beauty of a natural stone patio is timeless and it is easy to maintain.
